Abstract:
This research was carried out to determine the relationship between volunteer work and social and emotional learning level of students by examining the social and emotional learning level of volunteer students and non-volunteer students. Some of the findings regarding the benefits of social responsibility effects on students are empathy, achievement, sense of duty, communication skills, and compassion. Successful volunteer programs for adolescents along with school-based support are related to improvements in both academic and social skills (Ozdemir & Atmaca, 2022). This research covers only 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. An e-mail was sent for permission request to the scale developer adolescents’ social and emotional learning scale (Totan, 2018). The participants of the study include a total of 56 high school students. We informed students about our research, their personal information will be kept confidential and their answers will be used only for this project. The result of the project is; that the social and emotional learning levels of volunteer students are statistically higher than non-volunteer students’ social and emotional learning levels. There is a statistical difference between female and male volunteer groups. Female volunteer students have statistically higher social and emotional learning levels than male volunteer students’ social and emotional learning level.
