Abstract:
Abstract- A new method of identifying relationships between taxonomic groups by comparing amino acid residues across well-conserved proteins has been discovered, and has potential applications for treating harmful cyanobacteria blooms. This method, called Cross-Kingdom Residue Comparison, has been applied to the ribosomal protein S15 and resulted in findings supported by major, independent studies. Cross-Kingdom Residue Comparison has further applications both in clarifying taxonomic separation and in future drug research, especially in water purification and antibiotic research.
