Abstract:
Asclepius is an electronic device designed to optimize a patient's waiting time up to 67%. The device manages the patient's identification and provides all the necessary required data to complete the admission process during an emergency or hospitalization. This gives the health provider the opportunity to concentrate on the patient’s health condition. The Sensitive data is being handled in the safest way with the use of encryption to assure its protection in accordance to all regulatory laws such as the Health Insurance Portability and Act (HIPAA). The opportunities of Asclepius for the future are ambitious, consisting of creating a worldwide network of patients to increase efficiency in information exchange, making it almost instantaneous. Asclepius definitely provides a fast and reliable way to identify patients in an emergency room and provides the required medical information in the fastest and easiest way.
