Abstract:
The present research, titled Pollution and reduction or fragmentation of the natural habitat in the wetlands of the Purrumpampa grasslands, Huamachuco - Peru, has the main objective of analyzing the current environmental situation and the factors that have contributed to the reduction of the natural habitat in the wetlands of the Purrumpampa grasslands. For this, an information collection process was carried out, for which written sources were consulted, reviewing various articles or publications from reliable sources related to the problem, in addition to oral sources, through interviews with people knowledgeable in the subject (authorities) and elderly residents, natives of the area. In the same way, audiovisual sources (reports) were considered. Subsequently, the analysis of the relevant information collected was carried out to be contrasted between the various sources, and to add a comment on it, in addition, a study visit was carried out, which allowed corroborating what was indicated in the sources. After analyzing the information, conclusions were reached, among which we have that currently the wetlands are contaminated by various elements of plastic, Styrofoam and waste disposal, mainly, in addition to discovering the factors that have contributed to the reduction or fragmentation of this habitat or ecosystem, mainly evidenced in its own flora and fauna such as the Andean lapwing, due to urban advancement, and the generation and/or accumulation of waste.
