Abstract:
Flooding is a global issue, it affects life and properties. A lot of work has been done to alleviate these problems. We develop a flood warning system, of metallic probes, to detect flood and, send flood signal. By using flood level display, GSM and GPS modules; we employed LCD, LED and buzzer. All these were control with PIC programed with assemblage language. We also developed a flood application known as Haisun app (Haisun means flood in our language). The flood detector can monitor different level of flood from 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. It recognizes the flood levels, a SMS is sent to save GSM numbers. At flood level 4, the device raises an alarm and call GSM numbers. A flood control center and three flood detectors placed in different locations. Each flood detector at different location is also equipped with a GPS module, to pin point the flood location on Google map through our Haisun website developed using Haisun application (Flood App). It also calls the National Emergency Agency Number. Our device is able to detect flood, flood level and can warn people of impending flood. Also it can show the location of flood on Google map.
