Abstract:
Our project is going to be about taking solar energy and solar cells to a whole new
level. Instead of the typical solar cell that is expensive, and cannot be applied in a wide
range. We will be designing and creating a transparent solar cell, made up of plastic and
glass. This will give us the opportunity to apply this solar cell to more than 50% of the
country, all skyscrapers, windows, homes, buildings, and even to the simplest things, our
phones. Our project will enable the nation to benefit from solar energy in a way it has
never before. In the solar cell we’ll be working not only with glass, but also with plastic,
we will also develop a plastic solar cell, as well as conductive paint. The solar cell with its
components will allow the entrance of the sunlight, avoiding UV radiation and infrared
radiation, and seeing through the glass and plastic at the same time. We’ll combine
between the two worlds of engineering and organic chemistry to produce a transparent
solar cell that produces more power at lower costs than conventional solar cells.
