Abstract:
Before starting this experiment there was confusion about how long that the food would take long, yet there was never a clarification on how long it would take. This experiment was designed to test the length of time needed for candy-bars to break down and dissolve in hydrochloric acid; the same concentration and same acid that makes up the bulk of a human’s gastric juice. The hypothesis that was constructed was correct that the dark chocolate would dissolve first. The results showed that the foods with less sugar dissolve faster than others and also showed how much residue was left over.
