Abstract:
Common farmers and/or rural workers (mainly pesticide enforcers) are subject to constant dangers because they manipulate agrochemicals. In order to avoid accidents with this type of product, it is essential to use the Individual Protection Equipment (PPE). An important means of communication of protective clothing are the pictograms displayed in the inferring part of labels and leaflet texts of pesticides. This work was intended to be the valuable if ordinary farmers and rural workers (particularly pesticide applicators) in the Buritirana-Palmas/TO le regionin and interpret pictograms contained in pesticide leaflets/labels. The research took place through the application of questionnaires to 10 (ten) farmers/rural workers who handled pesticides on their property or in the workplace. The results show that the manipulation and application pictograms are difficult to read and interpret, while the information pictograms were understood by the interviewees. However, the guidelines of the Anvisa Guide (2018) on the dress order are discordant with some leaflet texts analyzed. It is a challenge to communicate pictograms with the rural worker, because the information passed on seems to be incomplete and also discordant between companies and official documents.
