Abstract:
This project analyzes the different effects nature has on a slopes stability. It focuses on the effects of rain, water, vegetation, and suction stress. The purpose of the experiment is to determine what factors are either going to strengthen a slope or weaken it by collecting data from sensors, calculating the factor of safety, and comparing the data. This is very important when it comes to avoiding landslides. The failure of a slope not only can be dangerous, but it is also harmful for the sea life when it creates run off into the ocean and kills the corals.
