Abstract:
In order to determine whether Apis mellifera home remedies were effective in preventing and shortening the time of Streptococcus salivarus, I tested raw natural honey, hydrogen peroxide, and antibiotics. Not everyone can afford healthcare so finding home remedies that can relieve symptoms is a serious topic. I sterilized beads and mixed them with streptococcus salivarus and mixed them onto agar plates. I then added my samples of each of my dependent variables. Then I placed them in the incubator for 5 days at a time before I started my next trial. After 5 days I put the second round of honey, hydrogen peroxide, and antibiotics into plates along with Streptococcus salivarus bacteria culture. After 5 days I measured the rings around all of the paper circles to determine how effective they were at preventing and stopping Streptococcus salivarus. I then created my honey squares with gelatine and repeated the same steps. My research will determine whether home remedies of the Apis mellifera kind are more effective in preventing and shortening the time of Streptococcus salivarus or if healthcare antibiotics are the best option.
