Abstract:
Milkaumentar, as the name suggests, is a revolutionary phenomenon that increases milk production in livestock animals by improving their digestion. In a country like Pakistan, where milk production had already taken a dramatic fall due to ban on such supplements, research on feeds like Milkaumentar is important. Before the product was tested on animals, it went under a proximate analysis test at the institute of food science and nutrition. Soon after the lab test, in a cattle farm in Karachi three subjects were randomly chosen and taken under observation: first lactation, third lactation and a subject that was not given any feed. The tests were carried out at cattle colony Karachi. We began our tests on 30th of January by milking the subjects followed by feeding the supplement, and the readings were taken on a daily basis until a drop of 0.1 liters was noted and the supplement had to be given again. The results showed a comprehensive increase in the milk yield of all three subjects. The third lactation gave the maximum yield. The third subject showed a drop on the 9th day but wasn’t given the supplement. This was done deliberately to investigate the after effects of the supplements. This supplement is cost effective as compared to methods used by leading dairy product manufacturers. The comprehensive increase in the milk yield shows that this supplement is effective and shows absolutely no side effects as all the ingredients used in making this supplement are natural herbs and spices.
