Abstract:
This project aims better interaction of machines with physical world. Today we are using 2D barcodes in everywhere for that but we are still wasting capabilities of our devices. We are basically sitting a child who never saw a rose in front of a monochrome television and asking what color is a rose. But a colored television can help him understand the world we are living better. And thanks to that we can communicate with him better. Now that kid is our smartphone without internet. We keep asking do things from it without showing them what it is. This project will let your device know your world better and help you better. VoxelCode can store applications, long documents, 3D models, Images, Sounds and even 3D animations. But main difference between VoxelCode and other barcodes is VoxelCode can be designed as dynamic. For example we can use a material that changes its color in time and thanks to that when we scan code we can see how much time left for eating that food.Or we can build a static webpage design and mark some variables in VoxelCode then we can put leds on that modules(VoxelCode pixels) that shows info about device and place it in a device. When we scan this code we can see a webpage (offline) that shows information about this device. Or just as a everyday example we can use a material that changes color in different temperatures in some modules of VoxelCode so we can see temperature of room in our smartphones without any electronic device.
