Abstract:
The consolidated use of waste plastic bricks for regional infrastructure is mainly aimed at reducing the protruding problems of plastic pollution in individual regions and simultaneously creating an effective long term use of these plastic wastes in the form of bricks to utilize in regional infrastructure. The current plastic waste management or new waste plastic innovations would not be particularly successful in tackling the problems outlined unless a firm integrated system starting from collection to the implementation of the recycled waste plastic is employed. The use of waste plastic as bricks helps to recycle maximum plastic wastes of a region and comes free of problems that occur with landfills and incinerators. Moreover, the infrastructure sector holds incredible prospects for these bricks. The bricks have the advantage of being used in variety of purposes due to the ability to change its properties using different polymer blends. Properties of these plastic bricks that can be controlled such a impact resistance, thermal expansion coefficient, water absorption etc. gives it an edge over the other existing infrastructure materials such as concrete and clay bricks. Application of the consolidated waste plastic recycling as bricks in every region would have a global effect and can finally provide long term management of plastic pollution.
