Abstract:
Welding has a history that dates to the Bronze age, with several millennia of practice and tradition. Modern infrastructure is based on iron and steel and having talented tradesmen to assemble our buildings, manufacturing, and transportation. The risk of exposure to UV radiation during arc welding is a health risk that needs to be addressed to keep our workers safe. Things such as not using personal protective equipment can lead to exposure to UV radiation. Does UV light reflect more from a white wall than dark-colored walls? Can UV radiation exposure be reduced through simple changes in wall color?
