Abstract:
This experiment examines the effects bio plastics made from Kentucky Bluegrass seeds have on deforested ecosystems viability. Species are being eradicated due to deforestation, and are unable to live in their original habitats because of a lack of nutrients. Along with this, we have only 62 years before our landfills are completely full and will not allow for more waste. Combined, these issues have dire consequences if not pursued and solved. By originating a method for a plastic alternative to be created out of grass seed, and measuring its effects on soil that is unable to host life, it was found that it is a feasible solution. It would take 0.68 pounds of this plastic alternative per one square foot of soil. Further tests would include the moisture content effects, and whether grass clippings would be a substantial equivalent to grass seed.
