Abstract:
Nowadays , plastics is very famous . But we realize that using plastics are dangerous to us as well as the Earth . Durio Plastico is a biodegradable plastic from durian seeds . It can be an alternative to reduce the dependence of plastics .This is because the starch in the durians/durian seed can be a plastic when it dries . The reason why we use durian as our main product is because durian is well-known in Segamat and it is not harmful to human and the environment .
I did two types of bioplastics . First , I use pure pulverized durian seeds . The second bioplastic , I mixed pulverized seeds with maize flour .
A few experiment had been carried out to find the strongest bioplatic among the two types of bioplastic . First experiment , times to dry . Second , stress test and lastly heat test .
Based on the result , bioplastic that had been mixed with maize flour is the best . It dries faster than the first one. It is also strong and can resist heat from the environment .
Then , the best bioplastic which is 80% of durian seed and 20% of maize flour had been tested with further test .First , Stress test . Second , Immersion test . Third , Fire test . Fourth , Environment temperature resistance test and fifth , Biodegradable test .
From the test , Durio Plastico is 70% like a plastic and it can be an alternative to reduce the dependence of plastic .
