Abstract:
In the futuristic dystopia, The Minority Report starring Tom Cruise, the police would be at the crime scene before it occurred. Is this really possible? My project uses data science and machine learning algorithms to pave the way to that reality. Using data about various seemingly disparate aspects and mathematical machine learning algorithms my project attempts to predict specific crime information. The project uses applied supervised machine learning models of Ridge Regression, Lasso Regression, Elastic Net, Logistic Regression, and Support Vector Machines. The project follows key steps such as, goal setting, data collection, data exploration, wrangling, modeling and testing.
