The Alcohol Breathalyzer Immobilizer With about 30 people killed due to drunken driving every day in the USA only, resulting in about 10950 lives lost per year, drunk driving is a killer that needs to be stopped. We have created a deactivating mechanism that uses an alcohol sensor in a system that will be incorporated into a car. It is an alcohol gas sensor which detects alcohol in the breath of the driver, triggering an electrical pulse to a relay switch to the starter of the car to immobilize it. This then reduces the chances of a car accident occurring. This gas sensor concept is to also be extended into mobile phones, whereby on use of the mobile phone by a drunk driver, the sensor in the phone triggers a signal that will send an alert message to the driver's in case of emergency contacts and the police. The message will include the location coordinates of the driver involved. The sensor will therefore prevent further driving of the vehicle and also reveal the driver's location.
