Abstract:
The purpose of this project was to determine which common liquid will kill duckweed the fastest. To test this I dropped two drops of each liquid into each flask containing duckweed for four weeks. The results included the fact that gasoline and dish soap killed the duckweed the fastest. Some of the liquids caused the plants to change color and turn brown, white, or gray. While others caused the water to turn brown or white. The liquid that had the least effect on the plants was water. The plants in the flask that contained water were not affected and they thrived in the flask.
